Born in Kirkland Lake and lived there until the age of was 16.  Relocated to Toronto, Claire became a teacher and eventually a principal. After 33 years in education, she retired in 1997, then enjoyed travelling, golf, and family with her husband, whom she had married in 1988.  Claire and her husband Greg, a RCMP veteran, moved to Briar Hill from Don Mills in 1999. Claire served as the first president of her condo corporation and learned a lot about condo living! She has volunteered with the Nottawasaga Foundation for over 19 years and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation. Her motto is "Have Fun Every Day!"

After retiring from IBM Canada and Celestica Canada, Allyn moved to Briar Hill in Alliston in 2003. Never liking to be idle, he immediately started volunteer works in the area including holding various positions on the Briar Hill Community Centre (BHCC) Board of Directors as well as within his Condominium Phase. He has also held key positions in the Men’s Golf League and assisted with golf and BHCC social functions.  He has taken on the tasks of Reporter Editor, A/V technical support and Zoom Master with PROBUS. He is always willing to share his knowledge and expertise in computers and BHCC audio/visual equipment with any neighbours in need. He also creates and presents Travelogue videos at the BHCC.

I have been in Alliston for 53 years. I practiced Dentistry in Tottenham from 1971-2020 and it is nice that I can say that if I had it do over, I would do the same thing. After retirement I continue to teach courses in Laser Dentistry. It has given me a chance to travel the world having given over 250 lectures on 5 continents.

​I was president of the Tottenham and District Chamber of Commerce and have held executive positions in a number of different dental organizations.

​I have two daughters who both have successful careers and live in the Toronto area. I moved to Briar Hill 2021 and enjoy it here. My hobbies are golf in the summer and curling in the winter and enjoy travelling the world with Jill. 

I moved to Briar Hill from Toronto in October 2009. It was a wonderful transition into retirement.

My Professional life was in Pediatric Nursing.  I graduated from The Hospital for Sick Children (now Sick Kids) and The University of Toronto in Hospital Nursing Service. Thirty-five years at HSC was very humbling. I joined PROBUS in 2011, a concept that was new to me, and a very wise decision. 

I have been Secretary to the Management Team for several years working along side  wonderful inspiring team members.

I was born in Toronto and moved many times in and around east end Toronto including several years on the Toronto Island of Hanlan’s Point when there were actually homes on the island. 

​In 1974 my husband Norm and I bought a small printing company.   Norm managed sales and I managed the administration, finance and production.  In 2000, we sold it to a U.S. Company.  In 2004, I accepted an offer to manage a mid-size printing operation and continued in that role until March 2016.  

​I enjoyed 55 years of marriage until my husband’s passing in February 2017.  We have three daughters and six wonderful grandchildren.

Mary moved from Pickering to Briar Hill in 2007. She continued working until 2015 but was active in many Briar Hill Community Centre (BHCC) and neighbourhood events (euchre, golf, BHCC dances and Phase Social Committee). Her work experience in convention and meeting planning was helpful in organizing and assisting in local events.

After retiring, she became involved in the PROBUS Club (Webmaster), the Lady Duffers’ Golf Association (Webmaster and Captain) and is past Secretary for the BHCC Board of Directors. She has since taken on Communications & Membership for PROBUS as well and assisting on the Events & Excursions Committee. She enjoys attending and hosting neighbourhood functions, loves travelling and helping in the community.

I was born and raised in Toronto (Leaside).  Graduated from U of T in 1970 with a Masters Degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry.  I worked for the Ontario Ministry of Health in Toronto for 5 years, then the Federal Department of Health in Ottawa for 25 years. I also had a 17 year stint with the LCBO in Newmarket.  Wife Tina and I moved to Briar Hill from Newmarket in 2016.  Son Ryan lives in Victoria B.C. and daughter Sarah is in Newmarket with her husband and our grandchildren Preston and Kendall. Happiest when busy, I assist with the BHCC in many capacities like Board Secretary and Social Committee and with A/V for PROBUS.

I was born in Clinton ON. I graduated from the University of Waterloo in Electrical Engineering in 1977. In the same year I married my wife Debbie. Also in the same year I started working at Nortel and retired from there 30 years later. We have two sons. One lives in New Zealand and the other in Mississauga. We have two granddaughters which keeps us young. I continue to do handyman jobs in Greenbrier and Briar Hill.

I’m a Down-East girl, born in Newfoundland and then living in Halifax, NS, until 1962 when we moved to Toronto. I’ve worked in Human Resources Management for most of my career, first with The Region of York Public Health, and then Kerry’s Place Autism Services. 

My leisure time is spent having fun with my family and friends, exploring nature, photography, travelling, painting, gardening, interior and creative design, cooking, baking and all things adventure related.  My motto is:  if I can picture myself doing something, I can do it … perhaps that’s why my family and friends think I’m a bit of a daredevil sometimes.

Born in Scotland, Eugene arrived in Canada at four and a half years of age. He grew up in Toronto and graduated with a history degree from Laurentian University and a certificate in Television Production from Ryerson University. Eugene joined the Global Television Network in 1973 and spent 25 years working in all aspects of production: News, Entertainment, Sports etc. He spent the next 16 years at Applied Electronics designing and selling broadcast systems to Canadian Broadcasters, such as CBC, CTV, Global Television, Sportsnet, TSN and the NHL.

Eugene has lived in New Tecumseth for 26 years now. Being retired for 10 of those years, he enjoys traveling the world with his wife Catherine, golfing in the summer and skating in the winter. Most of all he enjoys being with his grandchildren.

Born in Sudbury..moved to Toronto at a young age...enjoyed a modelling career for 15 years and a banking career with TD Bank for 30 years..I retired and we moved to Alliston in 2003....joined Probus Club of Alliston with my husband Paul Facciol in 2011 and continue to be very active with Probus and in the community..we love our life in Alliston, especially in our community of Briar Hill.

Bev spent many years in Mississauga where she was an Executive Assistant.

She has lived in Briar Hill since 2003 and has been a member of the PROBUS CLUB OF ALLISTON since 2008.

She served on the Special Events Committee for many years and is presently on the Luncheon Committee and the Club Photographer.

Bev has enjoyed the PROBUS speakers, the many activities and the friendships made.

I  was in the printing business for 40 years and lived with my wife Linda in Newmarket before moving to Briar Hill in 2014. We have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. I joined PROBUS in 2016.

I grew up in Scarborough, Ontario where I met my husband Brian. We had two children and then decided to move out of the big city to the smaller community of Angus, Ontario in 1988 to raise our family. Brian and I made the move to Briar Hill in 2008. Our children, their spouses and our four grandchildren live close by. I attended Centennial College, Laurier and York Universities. I worked in the Education Field for 38 years in various roles. I retired from teaching in 2016.

Diane was born in Scotland and came to Canada at the age of five, settling in west Toronto, where she lived until her marriage to Sid in 1966.  They moved to Tottenham in 1971, where they raised their family.  Diane worked in administration and accounting until retirement in 2010, and moved to Briar Hill in 2015, joining PROBUS a few years later.  They have a daughter and a son, and two grandsons.”

IBorn in South Yorkshire England, worked for British Rail as a fitter, married to Christine we have 2 daughters Lara and Rachael. We built our own house which was home for 46 yrs. Worked in my own garage for 30 yrs. Active in lots of sports boxing, swimming, golf, play piano and guitar. Moved to Canada 2012 to live near our family, and we love it.

Born and raised in Toronto until entering the nursing programme at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Met and married Chuck before entering my 3rd year. When I graduated Chuck became a student for 5 years. Student life was great. 
Worked in nursing for 40 years before happily retiring. 
Our family led very active lives for 40 years in Dundas. We have embraced all that Briar Hill Alliston and Probus offers.

A graduate from Ryerson in Chemical Engineering and I quickly found the food industry as my passion of Science & Culinary.  Working for 42 years at Canada Packers, Unilever and Azelis moving from positions of Food Scientist to ending my career as Director of Food Ingredient Sales.  My interests are in art, culinary, golf, cottage life and of course traveling with my husband, Doug.  I served on the Canadian Institute of Food Science for 7 years through several positions its a non-profit industry group encouraging and supporting students to enter into the industry while hosting industry events.

We have two sons and current count of 3 young grandsons all living locally.  Recently moving from our Caledon home for 32 years to Alliston 2 years ago.  

Born in Toronto, Catherine has lived in the Alliston area for more than forty years and moved to Green Briar in 2022. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Catherine made her career as a classical singer performing in opera, oratorio and song recitals internationally for thirty years. Catherine was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2012. When she retired from performance she was appointed an Associate Professor of Music in York University's Faculty of Arts, Music, Performance and Design, where she taught for eighteen years until her retirement in 2018. 

These days Catherine enjoys travelling with her husband, Eugene McEleney, painting watercolour landscapes, volunteering with the South Simcoe Arts Council's Music Festival and lots of interaction with her grandchildren.
